Samsung has just revealed the first of a series of extremely thin mobile phones. The ultra-thin device is the Samsung X820, which has a profile of only 6.9mm, making it the slimmest mobile phone to date.
The outer shell for the X820 is made from fiberglass-infused plastic, giving it the necessary rigity and durability, which made the design possible. As a result, the phone is also ultra-light, weighing only 66 grams.
Remarkably, there is nothing slim about the X820’s features for its size. The phone has a 2-megapixel camera, video recording & messaging, Bluetooth™, USB, document viewer, TV-output, speakerphone and an 80Mb memory.
The X820 will appear next month in the Russian market first, followed by other European markets says Samsung.
