BenQ-Siemens M81Benq-Siemens yesterday revealed the M81, a mobile phone ideal for an active sporty lifestyle.

Made from high-quality synthetics and rubber, the M81 provides a firm grip and shock protection. A revolving cover also protects the lens of an integrated 1.3 megapixel camera from dust and splash water. The scratch resistant TFT color display allows you to read the display even in bright sunlight. The video-capable camera can also take high-quality pictures with the integrated LED flashlight.

The M81 features an integrated music player and a supplied stereo-headset, which is great for portable music. Storage can easily be expanded with exchangeable Micro-SD cards for more listening hours. The pre-installed offboard navigation “activepilot” by Jentro helps you find your way; together with a GPS receiver (not included), the M81 becomes a fully-featured navigation system. A weather forecast client keeps you posted on weather conditions (subscription fees apply). The integrated flashlight can also be used as a torch in low-light conditions.

The phone can also keep you entertained with games like “Streetball” and “Stack Attack Advanced”. Video ringtones can be created effortlessly, and data can be downloaded fast with EDGE..

Synchronization with your computer is easy with the integrated organizer. For added mobile convenience, the Headset Bluetooth Stereo (not supplied) lets you direct all music functions via remote control. The BenQ-Siemens M81 supports a wide range of Bluetooth car kits which are available as original accessories. For instance, the versatile Car Kit Bluetooth Easy HKW-100 can be conveniently plugged into the cigarette lighter and guarantees excellent audio quality with its external microphone.

The M81 will be available from August 2006 in the colors “Graphite Black” and “Steel Blue”. Local pricing policies will apply.
