BenQ-Siemens will soon release the A38, a new economy class mobile phone that will deliver functionality, quality and reliability at an affordable price says the company.
The BenQ-Siemens A38 is a classic, slender bar form (103.5 x 45.5 x 18.75 mm) that fits comfortably into the hand. Also, its keypad and function keys are clearly laid out and easy to use. The A38 features a 1.4 inch color display capable of handling 60,500 colors and has a resolution 96×64 pixels, which ensures legibility.
The phone has a large address book (up to 300 entries) and can archive up to 300 text messages. Privacy is catered for with an easy-to-use Privacy Manager for incoming calls, which blocks undesired calls. Standard features include 32-chord ringtones, alarm clock, world clock, calendar, calculator and mobile games. Battery life is good with standby time of up to 286 hours and talk time of up to 248 minutes. Hands-free talking at digital voice quality is possible with original accessories.
The BenQ-Siemens A38 will be available in the color variations “Bold Charcoal” and “X-treme Gray” from July 2006 in Europe . Market entry in Asia will ensue in August 2006. In Latin America , the mobile phone will be on retail sale from September 2006. Prices will be determined locally.
